Service Expedition to Kenya

  • What is All One People?

All One People is a Utah-based non-profit organization that sends volunteers to Kenya, East Africa to serve in communities and help improve the quality of life there.  All One People believes in the importance of giving hope to others. By working with organizations such as F.A.V.O. (Friends of AIDS Victims and Orphans), All One People promotes the idea that the AIDS pandemic and cycle of misery can be reduced by acting in cooperation. Along with F.A.V.O., All One People plans to foster community-based education through service, micro business, and innovative video and computer applications so that AIDS orphans and others within the community can lead productive lives.
  • Expedition Description

In 2004, All One People sent volunteers during the summer months to Matunda, Kenya. These volunteers spent 6 weeks providing service and one week participating in a planned excursion.  Volunteers set up and organize a Community Learning Center, which they ran throughout the term.  They planned and presented classes and workshops to teach literacy, basic computer skills, and A.I.D.S. prevention aimed at promoting abstinence and fidelity. Volunteers also help to work on improving a Child Care Center for AIDS orphans. All One People is in the process of organizing another expedition. If you are interested, contact Fred Johnson.
